Another entirely unrelated blog entry I’m afraid (perhaps I should just start a “here’s some crap I found online” blog)…
But I had to post this, I was left with no choice.

Well, I guess everything is actually related to food, but… I hadn’t heard this quote before and google just spat it out into one of my posts on 43things and I thought it was incredible and summed up so much about how I think the world should be.
“My Religion is simple; My Religion is kindness” from the Dalai Lama.
Just googled these as well: “This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.”
“We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection.”
“If you have a particular faith or religion, that is good. But you can survive without it.”
There are lessons to be learnt here; Billy says so. I think this is a truly incredible way of thinking; all the moreso for a religious leader. To accept and celebrate that religion can be a wonderous thing, but that it is not the most important or the only thing is a wonderful and timely principle.
